I recommend this method over pulling the plane down through the tree with string.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the supplies:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Extendable painter&#8217;s pole<\/strong> (23 foot available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/p\/Mr-Longarm-Pro-Lok-23-ft-Adjustable-3-Section-Extension-Pole-2324\/100177392\">Homedepot<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>A tall drinking cup<\/strong> to capture the glider&#8217;s forward fuselage<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duct tape<\/strong> to connect the mug to the pole<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>helper<\/strong> to grab the plane off the pole<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The requirements were specific. I didn&#8217;t want to destroy the plane. The tree was too small to climb; the plane was in the top branch. I flew it directly into a tree&#8230; CFIT (controlled flight into <del>terrain<\/del> tree)<\/li>\n<li>Maneuvering a 8 to 24 foot pole up through tree limbs is not easy. I was lucky to have a small and sparsely branched tree.<\/li>\n<li>Lifting the plane once connected was trivial and easy.<\/li>\n<li>My helper was useful to support the pole and plane on the descent.
